a physical installation inspired by the idea of a ring that translates the bearer's emotional condition into a changeable color hue. at the request of remote viewers on the artwork site & from a computer station just outside the installation room, the Public Mood Ring software searches for the mood of a current public issue represented by instant Internet news text. a series of animated web pages allow users to pick a news story & a cultural color model, & then displays the results of the search engine as the mood outcome, which determines the LED color shown at the installation site.
