a 3D data visualization that conveys the personal chat history. rather than showing online social networks that indicate merely who talks to who, CrystalChat reveals the patterns in an individual’s communications with those people who are part of their personal chat history.

each spoke represents the conversations with a unique person, in which the colored discs represent unique messages. in 3D, these conversations are temporally sequenced starting from the bottom, with the most recent on the top.
